“FAIRY TALES ARE MORE THAN TRUE, NOT BECAUSE THEY TELL US DRAGONS EXIST, BUT BECAUSE THEY TELL US DRAGONS CAN BE BEATEN”

I drew this dragon as a representation of how I have recently found the strength within myself as a person, through my art and mentally. This doodledesign has a lot of character and meaning behind it. Personally, I love the bold lines and intricate detail throughout but especially in the scales. I see them as the highlight of this piece.

This design demonstrates something so fierce like a dragon can be soft on the inside. The feeling of not being able to be the person you aspire to be is in you. However, if you become the person you want to be on the outside that’s when you will be the best version of yourself. So, in this design the idea of the dragon looking so soft and friendly on the outside, makes you believe he doesn’t feel like he doubts any part of himself, but who knows the bits we can’t see?

 I found this style of pattern to be my favourite so far as it created depth from a 2D drawing making it eye catching and unique. Personally, when I look at this piece it gives me the feeling of being strong and that nothing can break you.

However, other people’s opinions varied. One person said it gave them a feeling of warmth and happiness on the inside, another said it made them think of medieval times and like they were empowered and others said they felt that if they had it on their wall it would help them feel safe and protected. They saw this dragon as friendly but powerful doodle. The aim of this doodledesign was to uplift you and make you feel like anything is possible. Its funny how one design can have so may meanings behind it and it can make so many people feel so different.
