Mystery in the Mermaid

What is life and what’s really going on right now?

Abbie created this piece from the emotions she had with the lockdown period. Her thought process was to express each emotion through different sections of this canvas. The mermaid is to represent freedom, abbie positioned her looking towards the woods to get the feel of her looking away from the world right now and looking into nature. The Rocks the mermaid is sat on is to help give the feeling of grounded and that there is nothing right now she can do, everything will just work itself out around her. The birds are to portray the government swarming in trying to dictate and control the world right now  but the pink bird is to show we are the power and if we all come together maybe we could have a world of freedom and light. Maybe it’s a hope of Abbies but what would the world look like with freedom, smiles and laughter everywhere.
